Dubrovnik’s ancient city walls and stunning architecture were used to create the iconic look of King’s Landing, making it a popular tourist destination for fans of the show. Minčeta Tower. The most prominent part of Dubrovnik's walls is the rounded Minčeta Tower where the walls are 6m thick, the better to protect Dubrovnik from attacks by land. The tower Minčeta is the highest point of the walls which offers an unforgettable view on the old town of Dubrovnik. The tower's name derives from the name of the Game of Thrones interactive map of Girona filming locations. In Girona filming started on 3rd September and continued at various locations throughout the old town until the 18th. The locations were used in the series to represent Braavos, as well as parts of King’s Landing and Oldtown.
